Attorney: Family plans to sue after officer-involved shooting

The family of a man who was fatally shot by Chaves County deputies is calling for legal action against the county as well as the deputies involved in the shooting.

Laura Ives, an attorney representing the family of Oscar Najera III, said the family wants criminal charges brought against deputies Raul Ramos and Ricardo Delgado for the shooting death of Najera. She added that while nothing has been formally filed, civil suits are planned against Ramos and Delgado as well as the county. The ACLU New Mexico is also involved in the case.
